Exhibitions in June

©Nigel Reader

Droitwich Arts Network exhibitions in June are very interesting in their diversity. Droitwich Library hosted a picture by John Bodley (read more) and local photographer Nigel Reader, a member of Droitwich Camera Club for 10 years. He has displayed his black & white photograph taken on an iPhone, which is a proof that in photography is much more important to have an idea, a good eye, and a sense for the ‘right moment’ than a costly camera (not that Nigel doesn’t use professional equipment too). The Button Tree Cafe on High Street is the home for another exhibition. Local artist Sue Harley have chosen 8 of her pictures, with subjects of animals and nature, to show at her exhibition. There are minimalistic drawings of cats and gentle portraits of animals, such as elephant, lion and hare.

DAN exhibition venues in 2017

Droitwich Arts Network members have an opportunity to exhibit their works in several venues across the town. Individual members are invited to organise their solo exhibitions, but numerous groups (members of the network) are welcome to display artworks of selected members.

Exhibitions in October

Droitwich Arts Network has a several venues where artists (payed DAN members) can present their arts. The exhibitions are on for the whole month or for two weeks period, and all venues are in the centre of Droitwich.

The Park’s Café at Victoria Square hosts the exhibition of Claire Hilton until 31 October. Claire is a freelance mixed media artist who works in wide range of techniques – from traditional oils and watercolours to 3D assemblages made from photography and lost & found objects.

‘Children’s prints’ in the Button Tree Café

Rosie Philpott is a local artist based in Droitwich Spa. After studying Fine Art and English Literature at Worcester University, she is excited to be making a living as an artist and illustrator. Rosie is best known for her quirky paintings and, in particular, ‘Wonky Droitwich’.

The Button Tree
Rosie is displaying her Children’s Prints in The Button Tree Café this month. Alongside these you can also find a booklet with full of fun designs. These signed prints can be purchased at A4 size in a white frame for £18 and with a child’s name added for a further £3. They make lovely gifts!
