Salt Fest weekend was an excellent opportunity for Droitwich Arts Network to promote its activities through an arts and craft exhibition and an art competition for the public. The exhibition in St Andrew’s Church in the town’s centre was a success, with total of 74 works in different art techniques exhibited and nearly 1000 people visited.
Droitwich High School pupils have displayed their photos snapped in and around Droitwich and show the talent and skillfulness that deserves a full acknowledgement. As it is the second year of their activities during the Salt Fest it would be great if it becomes a new tradition.
Salt Fest is coming next weekend in Droitwich Spa town centre. Droitwich Arts Network have prepared a rich programme in various artistic forms – visual art, crafts, music and poetry evening. There will be always popular art competitions for children. This year it will be ‘Paint a Masterpiece in 10 minutes’ and Mail Art, where children will be welcome to paint or draw the original art postcards of Droitwich.
St Andrew’s Church in the town centre will host an art exhibition as the part of the Salt Fest programme on 12th and 13th September. Droitwich Arts Network members are invited to show their artwork (paintings, drawings, photography…) during this two-days art show.
Music is always very important part of Droitwich festivals. The Salt Fest in September is not an exception. 4 Shires Festivals has prepared the music programme that will go for 3 days, on 11th, 12th and 13th September, in Vines Park in Droitwich Spa.
Festival visitors will have an opportunity to hear artists that appeared on BBC introducing special performances (the band Missing Sparrows and solo artists Polly Edwards and Kim Ryder); Junction Seven Band that covers classical rock and pop hits; Indie trio The Capital Band; Stompin’ on Spiders’ who blends traditional blues with modern acoustic rock; acoustic guitarist, singer and songwriter Dan Greenaway and award-winning Roving Crows Band, just to name a few.
