Droitwich Arts Network showcase at Hanbury Hall

The exhibition in the Long Gallery at Hanbury Hall near Droitwich is the most important event of the year for DAN members. This year’s exhibition will be open for three weeks and will be closed on 3rd November. The private view on 11th October was attended by artists, their family and friends, as well as supporters of local arts. The exhibition was opened by Councillor Mrs Christine Bowden, the Mayor of Droitwich Spa.

A huge response of local artists, Droitwich Arts Network members, brings together paintings and crafts in a wide range of techniques including oils, acrylics, watercolours, drawings, fibre and textiles. Displayed crafts, such as jewellery and textiles, are a new feature in DAN’s exhibitions. Hopefully, it will be opportunities to see it more in the future. Some of the artists have a range of greeting cards, prints and calendars.

Long Gallery exhibition at Hanbury Hall is opening soon

Hanbury Exhibition in the Long Gallery – 10th October to 3rd November.

There really will be lots for you to do and see! Throughout the exhibition we have painting, spinning, weaving, knitting, embroidering and performing on a variety of musical instruments. A group of poets, led by the former Poet Laureate for Worcestershire, Nina Lewis, will be visiting in order to create new works inspired by the exhibition. You can also vote for your favourite artwork. From past experience, I can tell you that it is always a lovely atmosphere and great to discuss the works with visitors.

Exhibition is open daily in the Long Gallery, 10am – 5pm.

Normal admission charges apply. Free to National Trust members.

Hanbury Hall closing celebration

Hanbury Hall exhibition was closed on Monday 30th October with a small celebration, that includes trophy exchanging, poetry reading and food. The general feeling is, and the numbers proved it, that this year’s exhibition is the best so far. The quality of artworks, number of visitors (3358!) and their positive feedback, as well as enthusiasm of all stewards during the three weeks of the exhibition, was the best ever. The spirit of Droitwich Arts Network was clearly visible at all points and the success was a natural result.
