ArtsFest 2017 – music and entertainment

ArtsFest 2017 started suddenly on Saturday, 15th July, with a song. Many have been surprised when ‘Voices Unlimited’, a singing group from Worcester, has started their programme in St Andrew’s Square. After the energetic start, town crier opened the event and audience had a chance to hear brief speeches from Mayor of Droitwich Coun Shaun Best and Nigel Huddleston MP.

After a great start with ‘Voices Unlimited’, the music show continued with the performance of ‘Sing and Tonic’ choir from Droitwich.

DAN members’ exhibition invitation

To paid up members of DAN and Group members

You are invited to show your art work in a DAN exhibition to be held in Droitwich Library gallery between the 1st of August and the 1st of September. The exhibition is a part of ArtsFest and a sponsor has agreed to meet the cost of hiring the gallery room.

We hope that as many DAN members as possible will exhibit their pictures. It is an opportunity to show the work created by members of DAN, and you can sell your work if you wish.

  • Only paid up members are eligible to submit work (individual or group members).
  • Participation is free.
  • Due to space limitations, individual members may submit one work, and groups may submit two works. You may be invited to submit an additional work if space allows.
  • Pictures can be made available for sale if you wish (the library commission rate is 25%). Please check for more details on the Application Form (attached both as a PDF file and an MS Word file).
  • Each artist is responsible for delivery and collection of their pictures on the first and last day of the exhibition. All pictures should be brought to the library before 12 noon on Tuesday, 1 August. Please check for more details on the Application Form. Contact Tamara Jelaca or me if you are unable to deliver or collect in person.
  • Pictures will be hanged using mirror plates. Constant supervision is not provided. Hanging pictures in any other way is discouraged and will be at your own risk.

A new year started with DAN social evening

On Saturday 21 January, DAN members are gathered together at Park’s Café to start the new year in a good spirit. It was a great opportunity to meet DAN members, to check what is new and upcoming.

Malcolm Wakeman, DAN chairman, gives a welcome speech.

The evening started with a really good food. Paul from Park’s Cafe prepared the 3-course meal with dishes and wine originated in Greece, Mexico, and Germany. In a relaxed atmosphere, chairman Malcolm Wakeman gave a speech on Droitwich Arts Network activities that will take place in 2017. He pointed out the great importance of ArtsFest 2017, the first festival in Droitwich Spa that would exclusively be dedicated to arts (visual arts, crafts, poetry, music, and theatre) and will spread over three weeks.
