Salt Fest is coming soon!

Salt Fest is coming next weekend in Droitwich Spa town centre.  Droitwich Arts Network have prepared a rich programme in various artistic forms – visual art, crafts, music and poetry evening. There will be always popular art competitions for children. This year it will be ‘Paint a Masterpiece in 10 minutes’ and Mail Art, where children will be welcome to paint or draw the original art postcards of Droitwich.

Rosie Philpott’s exhibition at Park’s Cafe

Rosie Philpott is a local artist based in Droitwich Spa. After studying Fine Art and English Literature at Worcester University, she is excited to be making a living as an artist and illustrator and is delighted to take part in local town events.

Her paintings of local views, such as “Wonky Droitwich” and “Salt Day”, have proven extremely popular with their ‘local characters’ and quirky style. Rosie enjoys working in watercolour and fine line pen, exaggerating the scenes she sees around her. She has recently begun extending her work across the Malvern and Worcester area and is now capturing these scenes in her ‘wonky’ style.

St Andrew’s Church in the town centre will host an art exhibition as the part of the Salt Fest programme on 12th and 13th September. Droitwich Arts Network members are invited to show their artwork (paintings, drawings, photography…) during this two-days art show.

There will be some screens upon which photographs may be hung using sticky backed Velcro. There is no specific theme for this exhibition. As the part of this year exhibition, we will see artworks from artists of ‘Les Amis des Arts de Voiron’. This artistic collaboration with the artists from the twin town Voiron started as they took a part in the DAN exhibition at St Richard’s Festival earlier this year.
