“The Witches of Eastwick” at Norbury Theatre & Cinema

The Witches from Eastwick

The Norbury Theatre has a new premiere in October – “The Witches of Eastwick”. The play is based on the adaptation by John Dempsey (lyrics and book) and Dana P. Rowe (music), directed by Eric Schaeffer, and produced by Cameron Mackintosh.

The Norbury Theatre presents the black comedy musical “The Witches of Eastwick”. Based on the novel by John Updike it tells the story of a small town which is home to three extraordinary women. Alex, Jane and Sukie are the loose threads of this tight-knit little town and each of them wishes desperately for some excitement in their lives. As if by magic, their wishes are granted when the devilishly handsome Darryl Van Horne comes to the town and turns their worlds upside down. But they should really be careful of what they wish for, it might just come true…

This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Ltd. on behalf of Music Theatre International and Cameron Mackintosh Ltd.

Call for accoustic/classical guitarists

DAN meeting in October was very much busy with vivid discussions about past, present and future DAN activities. However, this time we had a 10-minute-long musical break which was very welcomed. Mike Johns gave us a short introduction in guitar playing techniques and he performed a couple of songs from his “Spa Songs” CD.
