logoDroitwich Arts Network (DAN) promotes and collectively champions all forms of art in and around Droitwich Spa. The scope of the network includes visual arts, performing arts, photography, media, written work and crafts. We meet every month and meetings often include presentations or performances by other artists.

The network gives opportunities to share ideas, to be involved in Droitwich Spa events, festivals, various projects and activities. We also provide opportunities for artists to exhibit, present, and perform, including:

  • Park’s Cafe is suitable for individual exhibitions of 7-14 works of art. It is also the venue for most DAN meetings, poetry, prose readings and music events.
  • We have a small DAN display area in Droitwich Library.

Members are entitled to their own page on the DAN website; can interact via our Facebook group, and receive a monthly Newsletter. We are planning to introduce a scheme giving members discounts at some local shops.

Previous major events have included art exhibitions at Hanbury Hall and Droitwich ArtsFest.

A number of events involve theatre, music, dance and other performance art at the Norbury Theatre. The theatre is run entirely by volunteers and supports Beginners and a Youth Theatre as well as providing a full programme of productions, films and live broadcasts.

A number of art clubs and societies are DAN members. We also have links with arts communities elsewhere including Voiron, our French twin town, and MailArt which attracts contributions from around the world.

DAN manages projects such as the restoration of the Town Ceramic Mural, and has supported The Ring, aimed at developing the Droitwich Spa / Worcester ring of canals.

We meet once a months, usually in the evenings at the Park’s Cafe in Droitwich. The attendance is not mandatory, but it is great to meet and have a chat with fellow artists. Click here for 2019 meetings programme.
