Droitwich Arts Network showcase at Hanbury Hall

The exhibition in the Long Gallery at Hanbury Hall near Droitwich is the most important event of the year for DAN members. This year’s exhibition will be open for three weeks and will be closed on 3rd November. The private view on 11th October was attended by artists, their family and friends, as well as supporters of local arts. The exhibition was opened by Councillor Mrs Christine Bowden, the Mayor of Droitwich Spa.

A huge response of local artists, Droitwich Arts Network members, brings together paintings and crafts in a wide range of techniques including oils, acrylics, watercolours, drawings, fibre and textiles. Displayed crafts, such as jewellery and textiles, are a new feature in DAN’s exhibitions. Hopefully, it will be opportunities to see it more in the future. Some of the artists have a range of greeting cards, prints and calendars.

The artists who are stewarding daily in the gallery are demonstrating their skills such as weaving, spinning, knitting, music and poetry.

As in previous years, visitors are invited to vote for their favourite painting and the winner will be announced at the closing day ceremony on 3rd November. The families are welcome to give their vote as there are separate adult and children voting categories.

The exhibition is open daily, 10am-5pm. The entry is free for the National Trust members, but non-members need to pay standard visitor’s entry fee for Garden and Park (£7.63).
