DAN at St Richard’s Boat and Car Festival 2016

As in previous years, Droitwich Arts Network will be an important part of St Richard’s Boat and Car Festival from 30th April until 2nd May. The whole festival will lift up the spirit of the town with lots of activities. There will be canal boat trips, dog show and traditional duck race, as well as live music and stalls with food, drinks and crafts.

On Saturday 30th April Droitwich Arts Network will proudly present The Mural 2016. The mural is designed by students from Westacre Middle School, and painted by DAN members, students and public. Inauguration will be held at Netherwich Basin, Vines Park, at 11.40am when Cllr Graham Beale, Mayor of Droitwich Spa, will unveil the mural and the public will hear more about it. The Mural 2016 will be in place until the end of September. 

St Andrew’s church (St Andrew’s Street) is a venue for the art exhibition of paintings, drawings and photographs by local artists. The exhibition will be opened from Saturday until Monday, each day 10am – 4pm, except Sunday 1.30pm – 4pm.

Bank Holiday Monday 2nd May is reserved for children’s activities. At DAN’s marquee in Vines Park children will have a chance to show their artistic skills in painting, drawing and sculpture. All works will enter the competition. Cllr Graham Beale will announce and award the best artwork at 3.45pm. The event will go from 10am – 4pm.
