DAN network exhibitions

Hanbury Hall closing celebration

Hanbury Hall exhibition was closed on Monday 30th October with a small celebration, that includes trophy exchanging, poetry reading and food. The general feeling is, and the numbers proved it, that this year’s exhibition is the best so far. The quality of artworks, number of visitors (3358!) and their positive feedback, as well as enthusiasm of all stewards during the three weeks of the exhibition, was the best ever. The spirit of Droitwich Arts Network was clearly visible at all points and the success was a natural result.

The library exhibitions in October and November

Each month the library in Droitwich town centre (Victoria Square) is hosting the artworks of DAN members. It is a free display of one picture over the period of two weeks and therefore is a cheap & cheerful way to show your art and present your artistic activities with a printed material, such as bio, artist statement, business cards, leaflets…

This October DAN was represented by two textile artists, Jane Spencer and Tamara Jelača. Jane has displayed a beautiful felted picture of Missy, the dog. It was a great display that attracted many curious eyes of the library visitors. Tamara’s display was the small hand embroidered bird in a dramatic movement (possible a fall).

November has started with a meticulous pastel “Autumn Whispers” by Andy Jenkins. Anybody who ever tried to use pastels will recognise the amount of talent and technical skill that he reveals in this picture. Andy’s picture is on display until 11th November.

Karen Harmon will show her artwork in the last two weeks of November (11 – 25 November).

All dates for 2017 are now booked, but the calendar for the upcoming 2018 will be announced soon and open to all DAN members.

Hanbury Hall exhibition 2017

As in previous years, October is the time when Droitwich Arts Network holds their annual exhibition in The Long Gallery at Hanbury Hall. Celebrating the best of local talent, this exhibition includes work in a variety of different styles and mediums created by artists and photographers from within and beyond Droitwich Spa area. 33 artists are presenting their original art, prints, cards, and handmade crafts during 3 weeks, until 30th October, when the exhibition will be closed and a small celebration will be held.

DAN exhibition in Droitwich Library

The exhibition of Droitwich Arts Network members in the Library is the last event of the ArtsFest 2017. The exhibition was organised with the open call to all full DAN members and groups to submit their works in any 2D technique.

The exhibition is set up on 1 August with 43 artworks by 24 local artists. The selection included watercolours and acrylic paintings, pencils and coloured pencils drawings, pastels, photography and textiles. The visitors appreciated mostly this variety in techniques and styles and we have received very positive and supportive comments.
