DAN network exhibitions

Roger Ricketts’ exhibitions at Park’s Cafe and the Maltstone pub

Roger Ricketts has two solo exhibitions during March-April. At Park’s Cafe, Roger has a selection of colourful mixed media artworks. Mostly figurative abstract paintings, done in a combination of traditional media, such as acrylics and glass paint, with resin, polyfilla, noodles and a touch of gold. Roger’s bold and attractive paintings attracted a lot of interest, and several of paintings were sold. The exhibition is open until 17 April.

The exhibition at the Maltstone pub brings up more paintings in various styles, seaside scenes, still life, flowers…, and is open until 1 May 2018.

Lynda Sharp’s new exhibition

Lynda Sharp, a Bromsgrove-based DAN member, has her solo exhibition in Droitwich library until 31 March.  The paintings at the exhibition ‘Leap into Spring’ are inspired by nature – wildlife, birds, animals and flowers; and landscapes of a beautiful English countryside.  Lynda has been painting since her early childhood. She uses mostly watercolours, acrylics, and pastels, but recently started to experiment with fibre art.

Diana Curley at Hanbury Hall

Diana Curley is one of the newest DAN members, but she has been creative and artistic all her life, even though professionally life took her in a different direction.  After retiring she decided to go back to her first love, the art, and she dedicated 9 years to studying for her BA(Hons) Painting Degree at the Open University of the Creative Arts.

The exhibition at the Long Gallery is Diana’s degree show and it sums up her interest in both paintings and sculpture, that are delicately interwoven and live together in a very natural way. An important element of Diana’s work is a movement. It is present in her colourful sculptures in an automatic or manual mechanical way, or spontaneous movements with the flow of air. The movement is present even in 2D paintings through the cleverly cut shapes that seem to move around the surface.

Opportunity to show your artwork in Droitwich library

Droitwich Arts Network invites all individual (fully paid) members and Groups to exhibit their work at Droitwich Library. The exhibition will be part of the ArtsFest 2018 programme and will be held from 29 June until 27 July in the library’s gallery space on the first floor.

The Library has facilities to exhibit artworks that can be fitted on the walls using mirror plates. The available space is approx, 23 linear meters (approx. 75 feet) of wall space. The artists are invited to submit up to 2 pictures. Approximately 1mof the wall space is planned for each artist, therefore please don’t submit very large artworks. We would like to encourage members to submit new artworks that haven’t been previously exhibited at DAN exhibitions.

Please, label the back of your artwork with your name, title, technique, and price. There is no need to put any labels on the front of the pictures, as all artworks will be uniformly labelled with the information about artist, title, technique, and price.

The works of art exhibited may or may not be for sale. [1]
