Karen Hotchkiss’ painting at Droitwich Library

Karen Hotchkiss in LibraryKaren Hotchkiss showing her watercolours and acrylic painting “Evening Heavens” at Droitwich Library for two weeks, from Saturday, 1st August until Saturday, 15th August.

Karen says about her painting method, “I laid down the palest water colours first and gradually added more colour until I finished with indigo blue. Once dry I painted in the distant mountains and pine trees and added the foreground. Then I covered up the the landscape and spattered acrylic paint into the sky. The painting was inspired by a beautiful time-lapse video I saw of the stars moving across the sky at night.
